It’s been a while since my lasy entry here and alot has happened since then.
My parents have finally moved to London from my childhood home in Reading and I have made some major progress with my game prototyping system. It is quite an exciting time all round really. I’m quite nervous about everything as well although not in any bad way. It’s just apprehension of what will come next. It does however stop me sleeping sometimes - which is why it is currently 6:30am and I only slept 2 hours last night. Still, the sun is bright and I don’t much feel like sleeping anyway.
I’m flying to the UK tommorow morning (7am flight - *shudder*) for a 2 1/2 week stay so I will get a chance to see my parents’ new house, family and friends and prepare myself for the final leg of my marathon to finish my project. I know that I promised to let people know when I was heading back to the UK next but this was booked kind of short notice and I’ve been working alot so apologies for not letting anyone know in advance. I’ll send out a few emails later today.
My project has been progressing excellently recently and I am really excited about working with it for the final stage. As usual I’m hesitant about showing it until it is complete but I may be tempted to release a video or something showing at least some part of it soon.
In other news I have noticed that the inevitable has finally happened. Tony The Tiger has been raped by the Health Police. Karin bought a box of Frosties the other day - the first I have had in years - and they now sport 1/3 less sugar (or 1/3 of the normal amount or something). Well, for me the magic has gone. They are now nothing more than sweet tasting cardboard chips that go soggy as soon as a pint of milk looks at them. Score 1 for the Health Fascists and 0 for the Sensible People Who Likes A Treat.
Who is to blame for this I wonder? The media for creating this obsession with health eating that Kellogs are trying to milk or the public at large for being stupid enough to eat themselves into the overweight, sugar addicted slobs that they are and thus create the *dire* need for healthier food?
What happens if I just want a sugary treat for breakfast occasionally? In the future will I have to travel to Africa, or wherever it is that sugar cane grows, to suck the tasty goodness directly from nature? Will all food of the future end up tasting like cardboard? Will “Tate & Lyle” become someting you only hear whispered on street corners in LA by sugar dealing hoodlums?
At this time in the morning these things bother me.
